Warwickshire College graduates celebrate

Leamington Editorial 22nd Oct, 2017   0

GRADUATES of Warwickshire College were celebrating in Warwick.

More than 250 WCG graduates, who have spent the past few years studying at Leamington, Warwick Trident, Rugby, Moreton Morrell, Evesham, and Pershore centres, donned their gowns, hoods and mortarboards for ceremonies at St Mary’s Church and Old Shire Hall.

The graduates studied a range of degrees including art, animal science, business, computing, counselling, early years, engineering, equine, games art and more.

Principal Angela Joyce said: “Graduation is truly a day of celebration for everyone at WCG and we’re incredibly proud to see all of our graduates achieve their goals. Our recent destinations survey has shown that 97 per cent of last year’s graduates are in employment or undertaking further study, and I’m sure this trend will continue.

“By choosing to study a technical or professional degree with WCG, our graduates have not only the vital academic grounding, but the experience in putting what they have learned into practice – the best of both worlds.

“Graduation day is what everyone at the college works towards – the success of our students and helping each one reach their potential. We are very proud of their achievements and wish them the very best for their future.”

Guest of honour and keynote speaker was former Warwick & Leamington MP and newly appointed college president Chris White.

He added: “It was wonderful to hear from the students about their experiences, the variety of courses available, and hear about their ambitions, with some really inspirational stories of achievement.”

The college is holding open events in November open events. Visit www.wcg.ac.uk/openevents for full details.
