Warwickshire diners encouraged to keep 'eating out to help out'

PUBS and restaurants across Warwickshire are encouraging diners to keep eating out to help out throughout September.

Many eateries, buoyed by the success of the government scheme which offered diners 50 per cent discount during August, are extending the scheme themselves as they look to recover from the effects of the pandemic.

Among them is the Newbold Comyn Arms in Leamington which is offering a 50 per cent discount up to £10 per person every Tuesday and Wednesday this month on food and non-alcoholic drinks ordered from its main menu.

Pub owner Sarah Miller said: “As an independent business, we’re really appreciative of the local community who have supported us, which is why we decided to extend the scheme.

“We are accredited as an AA Covid Confident restaurant, which means our safety measures are in line with the government guidelines.

“We’ve introduced outdoor table service, hand sanitising stations throughout the pub, social distancing signs and our staff have full PPE.

“To encourage social distancing and manage demand for tables, we’ve also switched to bookings only, even if it’s for a drink.”
