Warwickshire families could save £70 a month by reducing food waste

FAMILIES in Warwickshire can save up to £70 a month by reducing food waste.

So say experts after a conference in Warwickshire to discuss waste reduction and volunteering.

Suggestions to save on shopping and reduce waste included writing a list beforehand, storing food carefully to keep it at its best, measuring portions and making good use of leftovers.

Speakers dedicated to the reduction of waste included Rubbish Friends in Stratford and Leamington Repair Cafe.

Environment spokesman Coun Dave Reilly said: “We are very proud of the efforts made by ourselves, our key strategic partners and army of dedicated volunteers across Warwickshire who are decreasing the amount of household waste that is going into landfill.”
