Warwickshire Music given government cash boost

A £2million cash injection is music to the ears of youngsters in Warwickshire.

Warwickshire Music, run by the county council, has been given the government funding which will keep the service running until 2020.

Set up in the 1960s, the music service has a strong reputation for music education and provides teaching and performance opportunities.

It is also responsible for the funding and governance of the Warwickshire Music Hub established in 2012, which provides education and joint projects for schools and community organisations.

Service spokeswoman Monica Fogarty said: “This is fantastic news for all the schools, parents and young people in Warwickshire who take part in the Warwickshire Music Hub. It reflects on all the exciting music making that is taking place across the county.
