WARWICKSHIRE Pride has received a £12,500 donation from CharityJob, the UK’s largest charity job board.
It is is one of just five small charities across the country chosen to benefit from CharityJob’s annual donation fund, which this year is £70,000, to support local organisations making a difference in their communities.
The funding will help Warwickshire Pride run a number of services and social events for the LGBT+ community across the county.
As well as an established festival in Warwickshire’s events calendar, Warwickshire Pride also offers a range of support services, groups, and social activities which take place all year round, providing safe, welcoming, inclusive, and accessible spaces for LGBT+ people.
Raya Wexler, co-founder of CharityJob and CharityConnect, said: “Given the challenging mix of economic pressures – such as the cost-of-living crisis, higher National Insurance costs, and wider global instability – which always lead to a drop in public donations, it’s no wonder that many charities are facing serious financial difficulties. This is why we feel it’s more important than ever to give back, particularly to smaller charities that are more susceptible to economic pressures and less equipped to weather crises.”
With this year’s funding, CharityJob’s total donations now exceed £1.49 million, supporting 123 different charities over the last 25 years.
