Warwickshire student aims for career on big screen

A BUDDING film-maker is aiming for a career on the big screen.

Kane Wilson has been named Leamington College Student of the Year and will now be heading to a London to study after completing his Film and TV course.

The 18-year-old will be attending MetFilm School later this year after seeing his film Jumpsuit screened at Cineworld in Rugby.

Jumpsuit – which follows a computer geek who hatches a plan to bag his crush – was filmed with a cast of performing arts students at Rugby College.

As well as claiming the top award, Kane was also named as Creative Arts Student of the Year.

The former Lutterworth High School pupil said: “I was out filming at the time but when I got the call, I was very excited and happy, it’s the first time I’ve ever won an award.

“I’ve also been creative and had an interest in performing. It was that interest in acting that led me into film and directing. I like the idea of taking your vision and bringing it to the screen in your own style.”
