A DANGEROUS driver who was chased by police through Warwick for six minutes has been disqualified from driving.

Michael Peplow of Kempton Drive, Warwick, pleaded guilty to the offence at Warwick Crown Court on Friday July 8 and was disqualified for one year.

The 29-year-old was also handed a six month suspended prison sentence, 40 hours of unpaid work, 20 days of rehabilitation and must repay £150 in costs.

Peplow, who was driving a white Jaguar on January 5, spotted patrolling police officers and drove off at speed through Warwick.

He drove through red lights, failed to give way at junctions and drove on pavements.

The chase ended around six minutes later, when Peplow smashed his wheel on the kerb and the car was no longer driveable.
