PATIENTS at a Leamington medical centre could not be in safer hands.
Waterside Medical Centre has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by inspectors by watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Inspectors found patients received high quality care and there was ‘clear vision and strategy’ at the practice.
Areas highlighted in the report include patient satisfaction being above the national average of 73 per cent, with 86 per cent of Waterside patients saying they found it easy to get through to the surgery by telephone.
There was also praise for efforts to help those suffering with obesity through a pilot project, and for the Court Street practice’s work with Warwickshire College to provide apprenticeships.
Practice manager Tim Morris said: “Our outstanding CQC rating is the culmination of many years of hard work from the team at Waterside Medical Centre.
“The practice works collaboratively with patients to continually innovate and develop our services leading to improved patient outcomes. We have delivered a number of successful pilot projects that have led to improvements in patient care. I would like to thank the practice team for their outstanding work and our patients for their support.”
And Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White took the opportunity to congratulate the practice.
He said: “I congratulate everyone at the Waterside Medical Centre for the dedication they have shown for their patients which has resulted in them receiving this outstanding rating. The practice has shown how they can make a real difference to patients by introducing innovative ways of working.”
The surgery joins St Wulfstan Surgery in Southam and The Castle Medical Centre in Kenilworth, and Trinity Court Surgery which have also received an outstanding rating.
Chair of South Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group David Spraggett said: “Waterside Medical Centre has always demonstrated a fantastic commitment to supporting patients and it is wonderful to see the CQC rating reflecting the effective and well led service the staff are providing to their patients.”
