A WHITE Poppy wreath was laid at the War Memorial in Leamington on the afternoon of Remembrance Sunday.
Leamington’s White Poppy ceremony commemorates all victims of war, military and civilian, on all sides, and represents a commitment to work for peace.
A war poem written and read eight-year-old Aerwyn Caborn was followed by readings and thoughts from members of the gathering about war and its effects on all who are involved in it or touched by it.
This was one of around 20 alternative remembrance ceremonies across the UK, and took place with the agreement of the Royal British Legion and Leamington Town Council.
