Whitnash prepares for proms and fun

THE FIRST ever Whitnash Proms in the Park takes place on Saturday (June 30).

Royal Spa Brass, the Village Voices Choir and soloist Charlotte Brett will be performing at Acre Close.

Gates opening at 5pm and the music starts at 6pm. Entry is free and prom-goers are welcome to bring a picnic. There will also be a barbecue and a bar.

The following day (Sunday) Acre Close will play host to Whitnash Fun Day.

The day kicks off at 11am, with the Cavin Woodward Memorial 5km Run starting at The Lawns Care Home at noon.

It will be followed at 12.15pm by the walking carnival, the theme this year marking the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, marking the end of the First Wold War.

The day will include entertainment for all ages, from go karts and sand play for youngsters, to live music and traction engines, and even the chance to brew your own beer.
