Winning poster points the way to Hatton's hedgehog highway

HEDGEHOGS can travel more safely in Hatton thanks to wildlife-loving youngsters.

Pupils at Just Camp Warwick were invited to design a poster to mark the new hedgehog highway that has been installed at Taylor Wimpey’s new development, Union View.

There were a host of colourful entries but the winner was Rachael Cave.

Rachael said: “The competition was really fun to take part in and it taught me a lot about hedgehogs. It was great to have won and I can’t wait to see my poster on the development.”

Taylor Wimpey is working in partnership with Hedgehog Street to integrate hedgehog highways across its new developments.

Taylor Wimpey Midlands spokesperson Ben Walker added: “It’s a real shame that hedgehog numbers have declined so dramatically over the last 20 years. Through our partnership with Hedgehog Street we hope to raise awareness of the simple things people can do to help protect them and to play our part by installing hedgehog highways at our developments.

“We asked students at Just Camp Warwick to design a poster for us to mark the unveiling of the highway at Union View and were delighted with the entries we received.”
