A WOMAN in her 70s suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car.
The driver did not stop at the scene on Friday (August 14) at around 12.30pm in Newbold Street.
The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her leg and stomach. She is still in hospital.
Officers have arrested a 27-year-old man from Stratford on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
