Woman who stole jewellery from Warwick pensioner jailed

Leamington Editorial 21st Jun, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

A WOMAN who posed as a nurse and stole jewellery from an 80-year-old in Warwick has been jailed.

Dorinela Barbu, from Birmingham, was jailed for two years after she pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary, three of fraud and admitted attempted theft from another victim.

It followed an incident on January 18 in which a pensioner had jewellery taken from her home in Holioake Drive.

Barbu’s two 17-year-old accomplices, also from Birmingham, were made subject to youth rehabilitation orders for 12 months.

The pair were also given electronically-tagged curfews for four months for their role in the scam.
