WARWICK district is gearing up to welcome the world’s best women cyclists next month.
Stage 3 of the Women’s Tour cycle race will finish outside Leamington Town Hall on Friday June 9, and there will be a packed programme of events and entertainment along the route.
Kenilworth will host the first Sprint Stage, with the cyclists scheduled to race past Jubilee House and along the Warwick Road at around 11am. Visitors arriving early can enjoy a market at Abbey End and street entertainment.
The tour will finish on the Parade in Leamington at around 2pm where a carnival style event will provide music, entertainment, a market and a netball passing challenge.
Warwick District Council spokesman Coun Noel Butler said: “We are delighted to once again welcome this exciting international event to our district and very much hope that local people will turn out along the route to give the competitors the welcome and support they deserve.”
