WORK is underway on the new Whitnash Civic Centre and Library building in Acre Close.
To involve and engage younger members of the community in the project, Whitnash mayor Adrian Barton invited local schools to take part in an art competition to design banners publicising the new venture.
A town council spokesman said: “We received wonderful pictures and the judges had a really difficult task choosing a winner.
“The winning drawings have been made into large banners and are on display around the fencing at the new build at Acre Close for everyone to see.”
Winners were Theo S from Briar Hill School, Christina Herbert from St Joseph’s School and Florence Hurst from Whitnash Primary School
They received book tokens donated by Whitnash Town Council and their schools received cash prizes of between £50 and £125 donated by Linleigh Electrical.
