Work to begin on bowling greens ahead of Commonwealth Games

WORK is set to begin on Leamington bowling greens ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Improvements will be made to two greens in Victoria Park from Monday September 16 with another two renovated next year.

Warwick District Council culture spokeswoman coun Moira Ann-Grainger said: “Being an official venue for the Commonwealth Games has given us a wonderful opportunity to showcase our district to a worldwide audience.

“However, with this comes the responsibility to ensure that the lawn bowls facilities are truly world-class.

“Our ambition is not only to provide a magnificent venue for the 2022 games, but also for Victoria Park to be recognised internationally as the home of lawn bowls.”
