WORK is well underway on the new Whitnash Civic Centre and Library.
The development began at the end of last year and the roof is now on the building, with water and sewer connections completed.
Whitnash Town Council, with the help of a local consultant, have been looking at how the new centre will be run. This includes the options for the cafe, staffing and volunteers.
Warwick District Councillor Judy Falp says monthly meetings are also being held to ensure finances are on track.
The councillor told the Observer: “Despite work commencing towards the end of 2020, a year that was already compromised by Covid-19 and lockdown restrictions, great progress has been made to the new Civic Centre and Library even through the winter wet and cold weather.
“The project is the realisation of an aspiration that came out of the Whitnash Neighbourhood Plan. I led the working group made up of residents, councillors and consultants that over a few years developed the plan, which was then the first in the district to made and formally adopted – an achievement in itself.”
