A WORKMAN had to be rescued with a farmer’s JCB digger after falling at a building site.
Emergency services were called to Staple Hill in Wellesbourne at around 10.30am on Tuesday (April 3) where the man had fallen onto a joist on the first floor.
The ‘complex’ rescue saw the man stabilised by paramedics before a local farmer helped firefighters lower him to the ground using a JCB.
A spokesman from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This is clear demonstration of how emergency services work together to ensure the safety and recovery of all involved.
“Upon arrival crews discovered a workman had sustained injuries following a fall. He was assessed and stabilised by the ambulance crews. Then with the kind assistance from a local farmer we worked together to safely lower him to the ground. Innovation was key to this rescue.
“We hope the gentleman makes a speedy recovery.”
