THE WEATHER behaved for more young climate strikers in Leamington today.
School pupils and a handful of adults once again marched up and down the parade to demand action against a ‘climate emergency’.
It is the third ‘Youth Strike 4 Climate’ to be held in the town and one of around 80 simultaneously taking place across the UK.
The group gathered outside the Town Hall where they further chanted their messages to passersby and left several in chalk.
The demonstrations are held during school hours – inspired by teenage activist Greta Thunberg, who demanded political action against climate change outside Swedish parliament during classes last year.
The latest round of youth strikes comes in the wake of the government’s announcement to legislate for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
