Young entrepreneurs impress judges after learning the ropes

ENTERPRISING youngsters have been given a taste of what it is like to run a business.

Kingsley School’s Young Enterprise Team, Ingenium, designed and produced ‘The Beauty Bible’, containing hints and tips about fashion, health and fitness, together with pages sponsored by local businesses.

The team won the award for the most innovative product at the recent Coventry and Warwickshire area finals at IBM Warwick.

The book flew off the shelves at trade fairs in Leamington and Stratford, resulting in them selling most of their stock and needing to order a second print run.

And pupils from Kings High and Warwick School created companies ‘Alacrity’ and ‘Elevate’ for the Young Enterprise Company programme and also impressed with their business savvy.

They had to set up their companies in September, brainstorm product ideas, conduct market research and raised enough capital to bring their ideas to the market – they then sold their products to shoppers in Leamington.

Alacrity and Elevate fought off the competition at a presentation evening to judges and will take their business ideas through to the county finals later this month.
