Young patients at Warwick Hospital in the driving seat

OPERATIONS are set to become a little less daunting for youngsters at Warwick Hospital thanks to a car dealership.

The MacGregor Ward has taken delivery of a mini electric Land Rover Discovery, along with two other cars, kindly donated by the Guy Salmon dealership in Stratford.

The electric vehicle can be driven by younger patients on their way to theatre to take their mind off a potentially stressful time.

First to take the car for a test drive was four-year-old patient Kian Dunning who cruised around MacGregor Ward.

Andy King, Guy Salmon general sales manager, said: “We are proud to support the great work that is done by all staff at the children’s ward and we look forward to helping in any way we can for future fundraising events moving forward”.

Aimee Hazlewood, MacGregor ward manager, added: “There has been a lot of smiling faces and we are thrilled to see the positive impact this has made to the children on our ward! We cannot be more thankful to Guy Salmon for their efforts and generosity.”
