THE HEADTEACHER at Arnold Lodge School stepped down from his duties – but only for a day and all for a good cause.
Dai Preston handed over the reins to Year 9 pupil Jacob Rogers who chaired meetings, checked on lessons, and oversaw the daily school walk around.
Jacob’s parents bid the highest at the ALPA (Arnold Lodge Parents Association) Winter Ball auction.
Jacob said: “I enjoyed chatting to people and viewing a variety of lessons from a teacher’s point of view. I enjoyed the business aspect of the school day and dictating what is going to happen in the future to make the school even better.”
But Jacob was happy to hand back control at the end of the day to Mr Preston, who he had a few words of wisdom for.
“You’re doing a great job. Whatever you’re doing, keep it going,”
