LEAMINGTON have signed Saint Kitts and Nevis international centre-back Ruben Freeman after he impressed on trial at the club during pre-season, writes Jacob Scandrett.

The 23-year-old ended the previous campaign at Sporting Club Inkberrow after beginning the season at Stourbridge.

Freeman has won three caps for St Kitts and Nevis at senior international level and last represented his country in March earlier this year.

Brakes boss, Scott Easterlow said: “Rubes is a player I have worked with before and has always had potential.

“The most pleasing thing for me is that he looks in better shape than ever before and that can only be good for him and us moving into the season.”

Freeman added: “I’m buzzing to be here and cant wait to get the season started.

“Having worked under the manager before, I know what his expectations are and what he will want us to achieve as a group and I’m excited to be part of it.

“I’m ready for a new challenge and this feels like the perfect place for me.”

Freeman began his career with various clubs in the Midlands, including Walsall Wood, Barnt Green Spartak, Highgate United, Studley and Barwell.

He also made more than 20 appearances for Racing Club Warwick under Brakes boss Easterlow in the 2024/25 season.

Freeman later enjoyed success at Inkberrow as he helped the club secure a first-ever promotion from the Hellenic League to the Southern League.

He began the previous campaign with Stourbridge in the Southern League Premier Central before returning to Inkberrow who he helped achieve a comfortable mid-table finish.
