LEAMINGTON saw their losing run stretch to five matches following a 2-1 home defeat against high-flying Merthyr Town.
Early goals from Lewys Twamley and Callum Ryan-Phillips put the visitors in command at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
However, Will Glennon halved the deficit after the break for Leamington before Merthyr’s Jordon Garrick saw red deep into injury time
The game ended in a mass brawl between the two sets of players and coaching staff in front of the dugout.
Leamington’s Demico Burton saw red while Garrick and Merthyr coach Craig Reddy received red cards for the visitors following the scuffle.
The result means the Brakes remain bottom of the National League North table, 14 points from safety.
Merthyr broke the deadlock on 17 minutes when Twamley scored from the penalty spot after Eddie Brearey fouled Cawley Cox in the box.
And the visitors struck again two minutes later as Ryan-Phillips found the bottom right corner after a set-piece bounced in the penalty area.
The Brakes halved the deficit on 74 minutes when Glennon fired a loose ball into the net following a corner.
And Merthyr defender Jay Williams then cleared a shot off the line as the Brakes pushed for a leveller.
Tempers boiled over at the death which led to a mass brawl with three red cards shown in the aftermath.
Leamington are next in action against Worksop Town on Saturday, February 28 with kick-off at 3pm at Sandy Lane.
