EIGHT Kenilworth Runners took part in the 233rd Coventry parkrun in Memorial Park on Saturday and the star of the show was Louise Andrews – the sole lady Kenilworth Runner – with an excellent run to finish first lady and 40th overall in a new parkrun PB of 20:44.

Wayne Briggs was the first club man home in 13th position in a new PB time of 19:02, followed by Matt Griffiths 30th in 20:16 and Tom Williams also with a new PB time of 20:37 in 36th position.

Clive Pearce was 46th in 21:18, Richard Ward 56th in 21:54, John McKenna 68th in 22:24 and Richard Miller 337th in 30:38 completed the men’s contingent.

THE 61st KINGSBURY Water parkrun on Saturday saw Kenilworth Runners’ Patrick Roddy run a new PB as he finished in first position in a time of 15:48.




Roddy led from the start and finished nearly two minutes in front of the second placed runner. He was followed by team-mate Neil Sheward, currently training for a marathon, who also ran a PB in eighth position in a time of 18:26.

TWO Spa Striders were in the top ten at this weekend’s Leamington parkrun. Will Johnson was third in 18:27 and Tim Down was sixth in 18:45. Laura Peake was third lady in a personal best time of 21:36.

THERE were near perfect conditions for the running of the Stratford Big 10k on Sunday and Strider Bethan Gwynn finished seventh lady (118th overall) in 44:32.

Suzi Graham was 291st in 50:38, Julie Heaton 501st in 55:49 and Gary Perkins competed the Strider line-up, finishing 524th in 56:26.

SPA Strider Rob Nash took part in Ironman Wales on Sunday, which consisted of a tough 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run. The challenging course took place in Tenby where Nash completed the distance in 13:06:36.
