THE WINNING streak continues for Warwick Boat’s squash club after the first team came away with convincing wins against local rivals Kenilworth.

David Wall kicked of the matches with a battling performance at number five and he pushed his opponent hard in the first game but just came up short 18-20 and eventually lost 3-0.

Next up was Gary Murphy and despite a slow start he managed to pick up his game to come home with a 3-1 win. Jamie Goodheart followed with a straightforward 3-1 victory and the penultimate match saw Rob Mahon, returning from injury, come from behind to snatch a valuable 3-1 win against an experienced opponent.

Last up was club number one Richard Whitwell, who recently took the County over 45 title. Whitwell took a commanding 2-0 lead and then worked hard to take the final game and the match 3-0.

Club coach Jonathan Peak commented: “Warwick Boat Club are happy to be challenging strongly for promotion and I am pleased to see the hard work in training of the whole squad is clearly paying off.”
