ATHLETICS: SEVEN athletes from Crackley Hall School have qualified to take part in this year’s Independent Schools’ Association National Track and Field Championships.
A team of 33 youngsters from years four to six travelled to Birmingham’s prestigious Alexander Stadium to compete in the regional ISA Midlands’ Athletics Championships.
Competing against 31 schools from across the Midlands, PE teacher Kat Vaughan praised the outstanding attitude adopted by the Crackley team as pupils took part in all track and field events from the minute the first claxon sounded.
She said: “This was a long and exciting day.
“I am always impressed by our pupils’ composure, confidence and their competitive spirit.
“There were many excellent achievements and we are absolutely delighted that a record number of athletes were placed in both track and field events.”
The ISA National Track and Field Championships takes place later this month on Monday (June 19) – also at the Alexander Stadium.
