WARWICK women’s first XI claimed a deserved first victory of the season in a 4-3 Warwickshire League Division One thriller at Nuneaton.
After a positive opening point against Khalsa Leamington, Warwick started their second game of the campaign in confident form and worked some wonderful passing moves.
They powered into a 3-1 lead at half-time but Nuneaton came out in the second half looking dangerous and pulled a goal back.
Warwick regained their two-goal cushion before Nuneaton scored a third in the final ten minutes.
Warwick women’s third XI swept aside Old Silhillians Seconds 4-1 in Division Three to make it three wins from three.
Celine Duijzers opened the scoring from a penalty corner, before Silhillians found a leveller. Lucy Archer regained the lead just before half-time, before Duijzers fired her second and Liz Holding wrapped up the scoring.
