A NUMBER of Spa Striders’ athletes were in action last weekend with one runner racing in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Club member Kevin Baskerville took on the Yas Marina Tri in 30-degree heat and finished in a time of 1 hour 41 minutes 34 seconds around the picturesque course.
Closer to home, Richard Spear took part in the English Cross-Country Nationals at Bolesworth Castle in Chester.
The race attracted some 1,472 runners from close to 100 English running clubs as Spear placed 556th in a time of 46 mins 3 secs over the 12k course.
On the south coast, James Robbins and Chris McKeown competed in the Brighton Half Marathon.
And Robbins set a new personal best (PB) time of 1 hr 47 mins 58 secs, as he saved three minutes off his previous best time, whilst McKeown also set a new official PB.
Lastly, Sara Northover took part in the Bourton 10k and placed fifth in her age category in a time of 46 mins 18 secs which saw her break an age group club record in the process.
