SPA Striders continued to enjoy peak autumn racing season with a plethora of city marathon and half marathons attracting Striders to their start lines each weekend.

George Smith travelled to Amsterdam to run 26.2 fast flat miles starting and finishing in the Olympic Stadium in a time of 3 hours 37 minutes 11 seconds (unofficial).

Closer to home, numerous Striders travelled to Oxford for the city’s half marathon. First home was Charlotte Everard in a very speedy 1 hr 31 mins 16 secs.

Next across the line was Clare Hinton in 1 hr 34 mins 12 secs followed by Andrew Stone 1 hr 40 mins 3 secs, Mark Hone 1 hr 42 mins 26 secs, Rosie Clarke 2 hrs 1 min 31 secs, Martin Carty 2 hrs 2 mins 13 secs and Anne Hall 2 hrs 10 mins 21 secs.

Also completing the race as part of a longer marathon training run was Lucy Marcovitch.

The equally scenic and historic city of Bath also held their half marathon this weekend which attracted a smaller group of Striders.

Chris Mckeown finished in 1 hr 16 mins 54 secs, Iain Roebuck in 1 hr 33 mins 47 secs and Tina Roebuck ran a personal best (PB) in a time of 1 hr 57 mins.

Richard Spear completed the Chesterfield 10k in Derbyshire in 36 mins 27 secs finishing in an excellent 10th place.

Finally, Nigel Fox ran the Tourcoing 5k in France in a time of 24 mins 24 secs following some confusion as to where the finish was situated.
