Leamington Editorial 1st Sep, 2022   0

CLEARYS Boxing Gym fighters Jaya Kalsi and Serena Mali, from Leamington and Warwick, were the youngest boxers to represent England at the recent European Schools Boxing Championships in Erzurum, Turkey.

Jaya, aged 12, and Serena, aged 13, are both trained by Edwin Cleary and his coaches at his boxing gym in Leamington.

And Serena came home with a superb silver medal in a closely contested final whilst Jaya reached the quarter-finals in her category before coming up short against a much older opponent.

Both girls have returned from the tournament with a lot confidence and experience and are already in training and looking forward to future bouts and competitions.

The girls have huge potential and can look up to the likes of Lewis Williams who won gold for England at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games having first walked into Clearys Gym as a 12-year-old.
