BOXING - Cleary's Gym fighters preparing for next professional bouts

CLEARY’S Boxing Gym fighters Matty Harris and Danny Quartermaine have been gearing up for their next professional fights.

Harris (3-0) is due to fight Jiri Surmaj at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle on Friday, December 2 in what will be the heavyweight’s fourth professional bout.

And Harris has been training with heavyweight title challenger Derek Chisora and his team in the build up to the fight which takes place on the undercard of Troy Williamson and Josh Kelly’s British title bout.

Fellow Cleary’s fighter Quartermaine (6-0) will put his unbeaten professional record on the line next month and is set to fight on Friday, December 16 at the Sports Connexion Leisure Club and Venue in Ryton-on-Dunsmore.

Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medal winner Lewis Williams, who also trains at the gym, has been helping out the local community by promoting bag parcels and raising money for various charities at his local Morrisons.

Lastly, 13-year-old amateur boxer Mason Stangwood competed in his first skills ring bout in Coventry despite only having been with Cleary’s for six weeks and has shown rapid development.
