LEWIS Williams suffered an agonising split decision defeat in the round of 16 at the European Games in Krakow, Poland.
The Leamington heavyweight was beaten 3-2 over three rounds by Turkey’s Berat Acar.
Williams needed just two rounds to dispatch Kosovo’s Taulant Jakupi in his opening bout of the tournament.
However, he was unable to progress to the quarter-finals despite winning 29-28 on two of the judges scorecards.
The other three judges scored the fight 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 in Acar’s favour.
