BOXING - Quartermaine returns to the ring at Villa Park next weekend

LEAMINGTON’S Danny Quartermaine returns to the ring at Villa Park next weekend as he looks to extend his unbeaten professional record.

Quartermaine has a 5-0 record in the professional ranks and headlines the ‘No Cuts No Glory’ bill assembled by promoter Tommy Owens.

He last fought in July where he won by TKO in the first round and has three previous victories at Villa Park fighting in the Holte Suite.

The Clearys Boxing Gym fighter puts his unbeaten record on the line over six rounds with standard tickets priced at £35, VIP balcony tickets at £50 and VIP dinner tickets at £65.

Quartermaine said: “We have to be one of the top gyms in the country. Edwin doesn’t go around trying to get noticed, he lets his boxers’ results speak for him.

“Edwin set up the gym around 15 years ago and it’s taken time, but now people realise that his systems work.

“We started off having Midlands champions and a Novice champion in the amateurs and the gym has kept progressing until we have fighters competing at world level.

“Leamington is only a small town and the gym is a shoebox! People come here and say: ‘is this it? How can you produce boxers at a gym like this?’ It’s not about the gym, it’s about the strategy.”

The super-featherweight fights on Saturday, September 10 in the Holte Suite at Villa Park with doors open at 6pm.
