DANNY Quartermaine is fighting for the vacant IBF European Super Featherweight title at the Skydome Arena in Coventry next month.

Quartermaine (10-0) takes on Romanian fighter Alex Rat (17-6-2) as he attempts to claim his first belt in the professional ranks.

And the Leamington fighter, who recently signed with GBM Sports, headlines the card which also features the likes of Scott Melvin, Nyall Berry and River Wilson-Bent.

The super featherweight beat Jack Hillier by technical decision in his most recent bout in October last year.

Izzy Asif, CEO of GBM Sports, said: “On March 9, we’re going to showcase what all of the hype is about.

“We’re looking forward to coming to the Midlands. This is somewhere I’ve always wanted to put on a show and it’s going to be massive.

“We’re expecting 3,500 people in a packed out arena. We’ve got two title fights, two undefeated local fighters competing for the Midlands Area title, and some highly tipped debutants on the show.”

The ‘Ice Breaker’ card takes place on Saturday, March 9 with the action live and free to view on talkSPORT.
