RUGBY UNION: KENILWORTH Ladies will play twice in one afternoon this Saturday.
Kenilworth’s development side will start proceedings at Glasshouse Lane as they entertain University of Oxford before the first team face Five Ways Old Edwardians in the second round of the Intermediate Cup.
The double header, which gets underway at 1pm, takes place two years after the ladies section was first established at Kenilworth Rugby.
Forty two players are expected to take to the field on Sunday, with the section keen to continue securing regular fixtures for its development team to run alongside the 1st XV’s league and Cup schedule.
Caroline Spence, ladies’ chairwoman, said: “Everyone at Kenilworth Ladies is really looking forward to this weekend.
“The Double Header is a great achievement by everyone involved at Kenilworth Ladies and it is a real testament to the hard work that has been put in over the last couple of years.
“We hope it will be a brilliant afternoon of rugby and hopefully we can encourage more ladies to join the team.”
The development squad will face Oxford University at 1pm before the 1st team’s match follows at 2.30pm.
