RUGBY UNION: CLAVERDON’S hopes of cementing a place near the top of the league were dented following defeat to Bedworth.
The game was lost in the opening ten minutes as Bedworth came out firing on all cylinders.
Poor discipline cost the home side in the early stages as Bedworth led 3-0 after just minutes of play.
A converted try soon followed before Claverdon edged their way back into the game with a penalty of their own before half time.
The second half proved to be a close contest with both teams restricted to few scoring opportunities.
Claverdon missed chances to win the game with three try-scoring opportunities all missed.
Bedworth then wrapped up the game with a pair of penalty kicks towards the end of the game, eventually winning 16-3.
