CLEARY’S Boxing Gym prospect Aman Kumar says his recent visit at the English Institute of Sport has helped inspire him further, ahead of the new season getting underway next month.
The 13-year-old was invited to attend an England Boxing School Academy at the facility in Sheffield, where he joined other promising talents considered to be the future of British boxing.
Kumar is highly considered by Team GB despite only eight previous bouts to his name, but his two silver medals gained last season evidence a bright future for the youngster, and will attend three more Academy sessions alongside his training elsewhere.
Speaking on his recent visit, Kumar said: “It was a fantastic experience training at the Institute of Sport.
“There are photos everywhere of past Olympians, I also had the chance to spar in the 2012 Olympics boxing ring, which was amazing.
“I’m dedicated to boxing and always looking to improve, seeing my gym mate Lewis Williams’ name on posters and boards at the institute was encouraging and proves with hard work, and the coaching at Cleary’s, that I can get there.”
