CRICKET: MEMBERS at Kenilworth Cricket Club are hosting an exciting day of T20 action this Sunday to remember and celebrate the life of former 1st XI skipper Neil Goodman.

Neil passed away at the start of the season following a short illness.

And to remember the much-loved 34-year-old, a pair of T20 matches – the first starting at midday – will take place.

Kenilworth will take on Millfield School in the first game while a mix of players from Kenilworth, Millfield, and Neil’s close friends will play the second match.

Funds raised throughout the day will be donated to Myton Hospice in memory of Neil while a bench with Neil’s name on it has been organised to be on show at the club.

A Kenilworth club spokesperson said: “Neil was a keen sportsman.

“He played numerous sports, reaching representative standard in several of them during his teenage years.

“He was awarded a scholarship to the renowned Millfield School where he excelled in his sporting activities.

“We intend that the event is a happy occasion, a great social event and – more importantly – a fitting tribute to Neil who was a popular and well liked club member.”
