WARWICKSHIRE CCC preserved their Division One status in the County Championship following a draw with Nottinghamshire in the final game of the season.
Both teams needed a draw to make sure of their place in Division One next season as an early handshake brought an end to proceedings at Trent Bridge.
The result means Warwickshire finish the County Championship season in seventh place – 25 points clear of relegated Lancashire. The Bears managed just one win all season against bottom side Kent.
Against Nottinghamshire, the hosts posted 487 from their first innings as Kyle Verreynne (148 not out) and Freddie McCann (130) both scored centuries while Will Rhodes (1-13) claimed a wicket in his final appearance for the Bears.
In reply, Sam Hain (153 not out) produced a magnificent knock to ensure Warwickshire avoided the follow-on while Ed Barnard (81) and Michael Burgess (56) chipped in with half-centuries and Rhodes added 37 in his final Bears innings.
The Bears closed on 373-7 with both teams happy to settle for a draw with their Division One status secured.
