THE Kenilworth Common Boxing Day Cross event extended its record as the longest-running event of its kind in the country.
The annual Boxing Day race took place successfully once again in 2025 with the event sponsored by EweMove Estate Agents Kenilworth and Mike Vaughan Cycles.
And the longest-running cyclo-cross race in the United Kingdom continued into a 71st year with the first event taking place in the early 1950s.
The event began with an under-12s race with the main race taking place later in the day.
The main race comprised 11 laps as riders took on the Common Lane climb on every lap of the technically-challenging course.
And Spencer Corder took the race win ahead of Kieran Jarvis while Sullivan Berry completed the podium.
Kate Eedy completed 10 laps to cross the line as the first woman with Zoe Parker and Sarah Toms completing nine laps to finish second and third respectively.
A temporary road closure on Common Lane allowed the event to take place safety with marshals and traffic management in place throughout the day.
Director at EweMove Estate Agents Kenilworth, Matthew Clinton said: “Having raced the event myself, I know how challenging the course is and this year’s leaders showed tremendous skill and speed.
“EweMove was pleased to support the event again following last year’s sponsorship, and it’s impressive to see the longest-running cyclo-cross race in the country continue to thrive.
Mike Vaughan, owner of Mike Vaughan Cycles, added: “The Kenilworth Boxing Day Cyclo-cross has a unique place in British cycling.
“With its long history and technical course, it continues to set the standard for events of this kind, and it was great to see fast racing in dry conditions again this year.”
