LEAMINGTON were knocked out of the FA Trophy in the third round after the Brakes conceded late on in a 2-1 defeat away at Tamworth.

Dan Turner had drawn Paul Holleran’s side level in the second half after Callum Cockerill-Mollett opened the scoring only for Ben Milnes to grab the winner six minutes from time at the Lamb Ground.

Tamworth play one level below Leamington in the Southern League Premier Central where they sit top after 22 matches having lost just three league games all season.

And the home side took the lead on 20 minutes when Cockerill-Mollett’s low drive deflected beyond Brakes goalkeeper Callum Hawkins from Dan Creaney’s knock down.

The Brakes equalised on 65 minutes when Turner headed home at the near post from Dan Meredith’s cross after good work from Liam Cross.

However, the home side won the tie on 84 minutes when Milnes found the bottom corner from another Creaney knock down with Hawkins unsighted.

Leamington are next in action at home to Gloucester City on Boxing Day (Monday, December 26) with kick-off at 3pm at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
