LEAMINGTON trio Jack Edwards, Will Shorrock and Rob Evans have all signed new deals with the club ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Edwards will enter his 11th season with the Brakes after winning a second promotion with Leamington last term and will also assist the club’s management team in a new role next year.

Since arriving from Barwell in the summer of 2014, he has made 412 appearances for the Brakes scoring 66 goals and will have James Mace’s modern-day appearance record of 436 games in his sights.

Edwards said: “It really is an honour to commit for another season. It was my only offer to be honest, but considering we barely had time to celebrate play-off promotion, I only had one thing in my mind.

“Typically, I like the idea of being here for a good time, not a long time but it seems there is such a thing as a good time for a long time.”

Brakes boss Paul Holleran added: “I’m delighted to get Jack back for another season. He did a great deal helping us gain promotion last time out and I look forward to seeing him back in the National League.

“Jack will be also stepping towards coaching, and will assist the management team this season. As he gets older, coaching becomes a more attractive route and we’re happy to give him the first insight into coaching and being part of the managerial team.

“I’m looking forward to working with him in this new role as well as having him still on the pitch for us.”

And 25-year-old midfielder Shorrock heads into the 2024/25 campaign off the back of successive promotions with the Brakes last term and Rushall Olympic the previous season.

Shorrock said: “I’m thrilled to be staying at Leamington for this coming season. It’s a wonderful club that has looked after me since arriving last season and I have only good things to say about everyone involved here.

“To finish the season promoted again was special, and it’s testament to all the effort put in by everyone at the club for making it happen.

“It took me a while to get into the swing of things when I first arrived, but once I found my feet I feel I performed well, and the main thing was enjoying my football again.

“We will have a good go at Step Two, and if we all put as much effort in as we did last season I’m sure we’ll be fine and have a successful season.”

Defender Evans has also agreed terms for the 2024/25 season after impressing at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium following his move from Halesowen Town in February.

Evans said: “I’ve enjoyed every minute playing for Leamington. At the back end of last season I came in to help the lads over the line and we got the job done.

“I’ve not experienced Step Two football before, so as soon as we were promoted there were no thoughts other than getting signed up for the new season. It was an easy decision as I felt I settled in well.

“The gaffer, the lads and the fans have been brilliant with me. There’s some massive clubs and great grounds in the league that I’m looking forward to visiting. Hopefully I can match my performances and have another successful season with the Brakes.”
