SCOTT Easterlow secured his first win as Leamington boss with a 4-2 victory against relegation-threatened Peterborough Sports.
Easterlow won for the first time as Brakes boss at the fifth attempt with the club’s relegation from the National League North already confirmed.
After Mark Jones put Peterborough ahead, quickfire goals from Adam Walker and Theo Streete turned the game in Leamington’s favour at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
And despite Max Booth drawing the visitors level, late goals from Tyrone Lewthwaite and Frank Tattum saw the Brakes end their six-game losing run.
Peterborough broke the deadlock on seven minutes when Jones volleyed in a corner from the right from five-yards out.
However, Leamington drew level on 14 minutes as Walker’s shot from 20-yards out crossed the line despite the best efforts of visiting goalkeeper Peter Crook.
And the Brakes completed the turnaround three minutes later when Streete lashed a loose ball into the top-left corner on the turn following a set-piece from the right.
Peterborough equalised after the break on 76 minutes as Booth reversed a low shot into the left side of the goal after he chested down Jones’s cross from the right.
However, the home side reclaimed the lead eight minutes from time when substitute Lewthwaite glanced home Dan Meredith’s floated cross into the box.
And the Brakes sealed the points nine minutes into injury time as sub Tattum burst into the box, rounded Crook and finished into an empty net.
Leamington are next in action against Coleshill Town in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday, March 31 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
