LEAMINGTON battled to a 2-1 pre-season win against local rivals Racing Club Warwick as Brakes legend Jack Edwards returned to face his former club.
Goals from Ewan Williams and Owen Farmer twice put Leamington ahead after Archie Hamp had drawn the Racers level at Townsend Meadow.
The fixture also saw Brakes legend Edwards face a quick reunion with former side Leamington after he departed for the Racers following a near 11-year spell with the Brakes earlier this summer.
After a goalless first half, the visitors broke the deadlock on 53 minutes when Williams stabbed a low effort across goal and into the net via the aid of the post.
However, the Racers equalised later in the half as substitute Hamp drove a low effort past Leamington goalkeeper Eddie Brearey.
The referee then penalised Edwards after he fouled Farmer in the box which resulted in a Leamington penalty.
And Farmer picked himself up to fire a low spot kick into the bottom right corner despite Sam Lomax diving the right way.
