LEAMINGTON won 2-0 away at Southport to claim a first-ever victory at the Merseyside club’s Haig Avenue ground.
Goals either side of half time from Tim Berridge and Henry Landers saw the Brakes stretch their unbeaten run to three matches.
The result means Leamington sit 13th in the National League North table, 10 points outside of the play-off places.
Leamington broke the deadlock in first-half injury time when Berridge lashed an unstoppable volley into the roof of the net after George Ward flicked on Landers’ corner from the left.
And the visitors doubled their lead on the hour mark as Landers drove Owen Farmer’s cutback from the left into the net after the Brakes pounced on a loose touch at a drop ball.
Leamington travel to Scunthorpe United on Saturday, March 8 with kick-off at 3pm at Glanford Park.
