DAN Turner bundled home a late winner as Leamington beat Oxford City 2-1 to earn just their second victory on the road this season.
Turner struck seven minutes from time to clinch the points after Henry Landers opened the scoring for the Brakes at the MGroup Stadium.
And The result means Leamington sit 17th in the National League North table, nine points clear of the relegation zone.
The visitors broke the deadlock on 51 minutes when Landers’ cross from the left evaded everyone in the box and found the bottom right corner.
However, Oxford drew level on 74 minutes as substitute Zac McEachran fired a low effort past Callum Hawkins from 20-yards out.
The Brakes reclaimed the lead on 83 minutes when Turner finished at the second attempt from five-yards out after Kai McKenzie-Lyle kept out the striker’s initial flicked effort.
And Oxford had Lewis Coyle sent off deep into injury time after he picked up a second yellow card for a late challenge in the Leamington penalty area.
The win marks the Brakes’ first away victory since a 1-0 triumph at Farsley Celtic back in September.
Leamington are next in action against Warrington Town on Tuesday, February 11 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
