LEAMINGTON saw their six-game unbeaten run in the league come to an end following a narrow 1-0 defeat away at South Shields.
The Brakes had Will Shorrock sent off in the second half after Tom Broadbent put the home side ahead early on at Mariners Park.
And the result means Leamington sit 11th in the National League North table.
South Shields took the lead on 21 minutes when Broadbent rose highest to meet a corner from the left and sent a powerful header into the roof of the net despite the best efforts of Callum Hawkins and Dan Meredith.
After the break, the visitors lost Shorrock to a red card after he clashed with Jid Okeke following a heavy challenge on the Brakes midfielder.
Leamington are next in action against Southport on Tuesday, October 22 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
