LEAMINGTON saw their goal drought stretch to six matches after suffering back-to-back defeats over the Easter period without scoring.

The Brakes lost 3-0 away at Hereford at Edgar Street on Good Friday before then suffering a 2-0 home defeat against title hopefuls Brackley Town on Easter Monday at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.

And the results mean Leamington sit 16th in the National League North table with one game left to play.

The Brakes have failed to score in any of their last six matches with Paul Holleran’s side playing more than nine hours of football without scoring a goal.

Leamington conceded three second-half goals in defeat at play-off chasing Hereford as Matt Preston’s deflected strike broke the deadlock on 62 minutes.

And the home side doubled their lead on 74 minutes courtesy of Tate Campbell’s flying close-range header.

Hereford sealed the points six minutes later as Jaiden White burst through before coolly finishing past Callum Hawkins when one-on-one.

The Brakes then slipped to a home defeat against Brackley who sit behind league leaders Kidderminster Harriers on goal difference heading into the final game in the campaign.

Brackley took the lead on 11 minutes after Leamington failed to deal with Morgan Roberts low cross from the left and Connor Hall’s tame first time shot deceived Hawkins.

And the visitors doubled their advantage on 62 minutes when Gareth Dean guided Shane Byrne’s cross from the right into the bottom right corner at the back post.

Leamington finish the season away at Curzon Ashton on Saturday, April 26 with kick-off at 3pm at the Tameside Stadium.
