LEAMINGTON held League Two side Walsall to a goalless draw in the club’s latest pre-season outing.

The Brakes welcomed a strong Saddlers side to the Your Co-op Community Stadium.

Walsall’s squad featured veteran winger Albert Adomah along with summer signings Jed Ward, Sven Sprangler, Lewis Simper and Andrew Dallas.

Playing at home for the first time in pre-season, Brakes boss Scott Easterlow named eight trialists in the Leamington squad.

Adomah went close early on as he forced Leamington’s trialist goalkeeper into a save when through on goal.

The former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough man then saw a free-kick deflect off the wall and loop over the crossbar.

And Archie Bunn then flashed a shot inches past the post from the edge of the penalty area as the visitors remained on top.

Walsall striker Dallas had a goal ruled out five minutes before half time while the Saddlers used an entirely different XI in the second half.

Leamington threatened the Walsall goal after the break as Kyle Belmonte fired an effort from distance straight at the goalkeeper.

Substitute goalkeeper Jacob Humphries denied Walsall’s Courtney Clarke late on as the game ended in a stalemate.
